OverviewAll of our teams follow the same general pattern of operation. TryoutsWe hold tryouts in July and early August for the following season. Roster Selection ProcessPools of players are selected based on previous years performance and tryout performance From tryouts we try to identify the proper placement of all players in the pool to the best of our ability. Players are designated as one of the following;
TrainingThe number of training session ranges from two to three a week based on the age group. Indoor training locations are spread out over the three major indoor facilities for geographic equality. High end training opportunities with the better players and coaches in the area is the cornerstone of the program. CompetitionsOur teams compete at state, regional, and national levels. BUSC prides itself on balancing training and competition as well as competition and travel to optimize the player's experience. Coaching StandardsOur coaching staff is made up of the best youth soccer coaches available in Western New York. BUSC tries to rotate coaches every two to three years to give it's players a well rounded developmental experience. Commitment LevelsWe exist to provide a developmentally appropriate environment for players who want more from their soccer experience. To compete at state, regional, and national levels we require our players to be fully committed to their development and our program. While playing other sports and on other soccer teams is allowed, we encourage our players to do so at recreational levels to avoid overuse injuries and commitment conflicts. Speed and ConditioningIt used to be said that you can't teach athleticism or you can't teach speed. That is not the case anymore. With our relationship with John Opfer and Proformance Training we attempt to develop the athleticism of our players. Goalkeeper TrainingIt takes a whole team of players to win and lose games. However, the goalkeeper plays a vital role in that and it is often an overlooked skill. BUSC is committed to developing programming that specifically addresses the art of goalkeeping. Our goalkeeper staff is the best in the area and we provide specialized training sessions for our goalkeepers. Street SoccerIt is said that it is on the streets that the best players in the world are developed. BUSC incorporates a program called street soccer into it's curriculum. |
